Classes held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00pm to 10:00pm, some Saturdays from 8:00am-5:00pm.

This EMT course is required to apply for certification as an Emergency Medical Technician, and provides students with insights into the theory and application of concepts related to the profession of emergency medical services. Specific topics include: EMS preparatory, airway maintenance, patient assessment, management of trauma patients, management of medical patients, treating infants and children, and various EMS operations. The course is based on the NHTSA national Emergency Services Education Standards.

Our exciting, yet demanding course will be taught through didactic lecture and hands on demonstration and practical application settings. The EMT-B candidate must maintain a grade point average of eighty percent of better in order to take the Training Program final written exam. Candidates who successfully complete the written exam will then be recommended to take the NREMT psychomotor skills testing. Candidates who successfully complete the National Registry practical (psychomotor) skills stations and have successfully complete both testing phases will be required to schedule for the National Registry of EMT’s (NREMT) Basic written exam through (Pearson Vue) testing center. Candidates will need to be competent in their skills and knowledge and will we evaluated throughout the program

As we spend time in discussions, class lectures and implementing those tools through practice, the students will become knowledgeable, confident and competent. These techniques will help the student prepare for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) and State of Utah Bureau of Emergency Medical Services (BEMS) exams.

Upon recommendation and successful completion of all requirements, students become eligible to be licensed as an Emergency Medical Technician through the State of Utah and NREMT. NREMT Certification is renewed every 2 years. Utah Bureau of EMS Licensure is renewed every 4 years.
